Before I flew off for the holidays, I was able to uproot a little about the hidden design society in LA and reconcile my love-to-hate relationship with the city. Held at the GOOD space on Melrose Ave, we were greeted with free Ben & Jerry's ice cream samples, a taco stand, fresh water and a wine beverage without the alcohol content?? ( not sure who's bright idea that was).
Guest speakers included a range of architects, design magazine editors, and graphic designers whom prepared a short powerpoint discussing LA's quest for a more eco-friendly city.
I particularly liked the short relation about 'Unnecessary Traffic and Over-Weight Children' by Dwell editor, Frances Anderton and Geoff Mcfetridge's, 'Nail Salon' vinyl signs.
